Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham is seeking a Pharmacy Technician (Per Diem) to join the hospital's pharmacy team in Needham, MA. Under pharmacist supervision, you will deliver medications, fill orders accurately, and support sterile and non-sterile compounding, inventory, and patient history reconciliation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• MA Registered Pharmacy Technician with National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) or eligibility within 180 days of hire.
• Ability to become nationally certified if not currently certified.
• Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred, especially sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Delivers medication to patient care units per department policies and regulatory bodies (DEA/MA Board).
• Accurately fills medications and delivers to automated dispensing machines (ADMs).
• Maintains drug distribution functions safely and promptly with pharmacy staff.
• Repackages/compounds medications as needed per SOPs.
• Interview patients for medication histories and assist with prior authorizations if applicable.
• Assist with inventory management and floor stock checks.
