Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Victorville, CA seeks a Peer Support Counselor to provide outreach, engagement, and direct services to clients across age groups. You will use lived experience to support recovery and advocate for clients within a CRT setting.

The role includes on-the-job training, paid CEU opportunities, supervision for BBS hours, and opportunities for professional growth and career development.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience as a consumer in child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc.).
• One year of full-time experience performing non-professional, consumer-directed services.
• Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification preferred (or ability to complete within one year).
• Valid California Driver’s License with an eligible driving record.
• First Aid certification from an approved provider.
• Meet agency driver eligibility criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy and direct services to program clients of all ages.
• Serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates to clients.
• Support clients toward recovery and a meaningful role in life apart from illness.
