Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in San Bernardino, CA is hiring a Peer Support Specialist for the TAY Crisis Residential Treatment program. The role leverages lived experience to engage youth and adults in recovery, provide advocacy and direct services, and support clients toward meaningful participation in their communities.

You will work 8-hour PM shift, with opportunities for paid CEU and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Active California Peer Support Specialist Certification required.
• Lived experience as a consumer within child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED/HiSET).
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid CA driver's license.
• One year of full-time experience performing non-professional, consumer-directed services.
• Experience in mental health/healthcare or social services preferred.
• First Aid certification from a qualified provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach, engagement, support, advocacy and direct services to program clients.
• Serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates for clients.
• Support clients in moving toward recovery and a meaningful life.
• Collaborate with clinical and program staff to coordinate care.
