Job summary

Silver Spring International Middle School in Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute counselor for the secondary level on a part-time basis. The role covers 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, four hours per day, with assignment dates from 10/08/26 to 01/13/27.

The counselor provides developmental guidance in academics, career planning, and personal/social growth, and collaborates with staff, parents, and the community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school guidance and counseling.
• Meets Maryland state certification requirements for school guidance and counseling.
• Experience as a teacher and/or counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling to students in academics, career, and personal/social development.
• Act as a consultant to staff, parents, and community to support student success.
• Attend school meetings and related activities outside instructional hours as required.
