Job summary

Silver Spring International Middle School in Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute counselor for the secondary level on a part-time basis. The role covers 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, four hours per day, with assignment dates from 10/08/26 to 01/13/27.

The counselor provides developmental guidance in academics, career planning, and personal/social growth, and collaborates with staff, parents, and the community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in school guidance and counseling.
• Meets Maryland state certification requirements for school guidance and counseling.
• Experience as a teacher and/or counselor preferred.

Under direction, is responsible for providing comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling services to students in the area of academic achievement, career and educational decision making and personal/social development. Acts as a consultant in this regard to staff, parents and community.Physical Demands:As required by the duties and responsibilities of the job.Special Requirements:Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

Education Training Experience
