Job summary

Community Solutions is seeking a Program Specialist II (Part-Time) to provide direct client support within the Adult Residential program. The role emphasizes empowerment, advocacy, and trauma-informed care to assist clients facing mental health and substance use challenges.

The ideal candidate will have an A.A. degree (or equivalent) with direct client work experience, or three years in a related field. MHRS certification is preferred and bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• A.A. degree and 1 year direct client work experience or 3 years direct client work experience in a related field required or equivalent.
• Residential program requires completion of State Community Care Licensing training during first week of employment
• MHRS certification preferred
• Bilingual and bicultural preferred
• Empowerment, advocacy, trauma-informed and support techniques for individuals with mental illness or substance abuse issues preferred
• Knowledge of Medi-Cal regulations and program documentation preferred

Responsibilities

• Achieve productivity expectations and maintain assigned caseload within program structure.
• Apply Medi-Cal regulations and documentation to ensure audit-ready charts.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical/ legal obligations.
• Collaborate with team to maintain positive morale and respectful interactions.
• Work independently with minimal clinical supervision while providing high-quality care.
• Engage clients and families with strong interpersonal skills and effective listening.
• Demonstrate professional telephone manners and customer service skills.
• Show cultural competency when working with diverse populations.
• Empower clients to explore options and achieve self-sufficiency.
• Handle high-stress situations calmly and communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with MS Office and EMR applications; learn time and attendance software as needed.
