Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking a Part-Time Recreation Assistant to support the Recreation department at Kroc Park. You will coordinate and supervise programs, rentals, and events, ensuring safe environments and smooth operations.

Qualifications include strong character, ability to follow directions, English communication skills, and flexibility for varied schedules. Driving may be required with a valid license and passing a Salvation Army driving test.

Qualifications

• A person of good character.
• Able to follow directions.
• Willing to work a variety of schedules as needed for programming.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Must be able to work well with others.
• If driving, must have a valid driver’s license and pass Salvation Army 12 passenger driving test.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise programs taking place in conjunction with the Kroc Park, including rentals, leagues, and tournaments.
• Display good character and be passionate about impacting others’ lives through sports and recreation.
• Use excellent communication skills to work positively with different populations and build rapport with clients.
• Ensure that a safe and healthy environment exists for participants.
• Act as on-site coordinator for issues with program members, parents, or opposing teams.
• Maintain fields and courts, oversee setup and teardown of equipment, and manage safety.
• Record match results and keep statistics; enforce rules and arbitrate disputes.
• Support tournament setup/breakdown and volunteer coordination.
• All other duties as needed by the Fitness and Recreation Management Team.
