Job summary

Auburn University’s Alabama Cooperative Extension System seeks a TES Parent Educator to travel to homes and support Parents as Teachers families in Conecuh County. You will share child development knowledge, teach positive parenting techniques, and connect families with community resources to promote school readiness and well-being.

This temporary, part-time position supports in-home visits and group activities, with documentation and coordination required as part of the TES program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4 years of experience in organizing pre-designed educational programs/services, customer service, administrative support/clerical or related experience.

Responsibilities

• Visit families in the home and deliver educational services in a nonjudgmental/strengths-based manner.
• Maintain organized records and meet screening/reporting timelines.
• Be a team player with a positive, enthusiastic attitude and flexible scheduling.
• Work some weekends and evenings as client schedules require; typical hours 7:30am–4:00pm.
• Implement curriculum from the National Parents as Teachers Center and local enhancements.
• Serve up to 15 families per TES position; 12–24 home visits per year per family.
• Conduct at least six parent group meetings per year.
• Complete required documentation for home visits, attendance, PAT events, screenings, and reports.
• Recruit volunteer families and attend trainings for certification and in-service.
• Attend biweekly staff meetings with supervisor and other educators.
