Job summary

Family Connections, Inc. seeks a Parents As Teachers Parent Educator to work with Essex County families in their homes, delivering the PAT curriculum and fostering strong parent-child relationships.

Visits are typically one hour, focusing on the three core visit components, with family-centered interventions and strong rapport-building. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or related field, prior community outreach experience, and the ability to work with diverse families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or a related field is required.
• Previous success in community outreach and marketing.
• Ability to work well in a team and with diverse populations.
• Fluency in English; Spanish bilingual ability strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular, long-term relationships with 18 families at any given time.
• Deliver PAT curriculum during home visits (about one hour).
• Complete required documentation and input into PATsys.
• Utilize ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE to assess child development.
• Identify and facilitate referrals to community services as needed.
• Build caseload by outreach to CNJ referrals and community events.
