Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs (Murfreesboro VA Medical Center) seeks a Pain Management Specialist (Anesthesiology or PM&R Pain Management) to lead advanced pain care for Veterans, including invasive procedures and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Applicants should have residency in Anesthesiology or PM&R, fellowship in Pain Management, and board certification. Competitive salary and a Monday–Friday schedule are included at the Murfreesboro site.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Anesthesiology or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency.
• Completion of a fellowship in Pain Management.
• Board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Board of PM&R.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of pain physiology and management.
• Evaluate Veterans with chronic pain via history, examination, and imaging.
• Perform invasive procedures: radiofrequency, spinal cord stimulator implantation, caudal/epidural blocks, lumbar plexus blocks.
• Manage spinal opioids and intrathecal pumps.
• Communicate with interdisciplinary staff and management.
• Educate Pain Clinic staff and primary care providers on pain management.
• Assist with Pain Clinic schedules and clinic policies.

Board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Board of PM&R
