Job summary

The Nashville VA Medical Center, part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, seeks an Anesthesiologist with strong Pain Management expertise to join a team delivering perioperative anesthesia and acute/chronic pain care in a collaborative academic setting in Nashville.

Responsibilities include regional anesthesia, MONA care, and comprehensive perioperative planning, with opportunities for teaching and professional growth in a mission-driven VA environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
• Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training or substantial experience in Pain Management, perioperative medicine, or critical care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic and therapeutic management of acute and limited chronic pain with multimodal analgesia.
• Perform regional anesthesia (spinal, epidural, peripheral nerve blocks) to optimize pain control.
• Deliver monitored anesthesia care, sedation, and analgesia for a range of procedures.
• Participate in perioperative care from preoperative assessment to postoperative pain planning.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and CRNAs in a team-based, academic setting.
• Engage in quality improvement; teaching and academic activities if desired.
