Job summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking an Operations Manager for the Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity to lead IT, risk, and fleet workflows in a municipal context.

The role requires 5+ years in IT/operations with supervisory experience, a relevant degree, and strong project management and communication skills. You will coordinate with OIT, ensure compliance with city rules, and support cross-functional teams to deliver services efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, information technology, computer science, information systems, or related field required; equivalencies considered.
• 5+ years of IT or operations experience with supervising teams or IT projects.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, security, networks, systems administration and telecommunications.
• Project management certification or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement risk and safety, IT and Fleet management workflows to meet objectives set by the Deputy Executive Director of Operations.
• Ensure internal operations run efficiently and in line with City rules and funder requirements.
• Manage and monitor the department’s fleet of vehicles, including planned maintenance and staff usage.
• Ensure timely and accurate inventory tracking to meet asset management and quality controls of procured goods.
• Ensure timely and accurate Safety Reporting and chair a compliant Safety Committee in line with City rules.
• Liaise with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) regularly.
• Other duties as assigned.
