Job summary

Bear River Head Start is seeking an on-call Teacher Assistant to support Head Start children in a developmentally appropriate setting. The role includes assisting with lesson planning, health and nutrition activities, and promoting family involvement.

The candidate should have a GED or high school diploma, be fluent in English, and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification and a Food Handler’s Permit. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Proficient in speaking, reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Promote health and nutrition; plan related activities.
• Use routines to support play, exploration and learning.
• Support social, emotional development and positive behavior.
• Involve families and encourage parent participation.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and assist supervisor with paperwork.

Preschool CDA preferred
