Job summary

Bear River Head Start is seeking a full-time Teacher Assistant in Brigham City, UT. The role requires English proficiency, a GED or high school diploma, and a willingness to obtain a Preschool CDA within two years. CPR/First Aid certification and TB testing are expected, with a full benefits package available.

Responsibilities include supporting Head Start activities, promoting health and nutrition, and engaging families to foster child development in a classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• GED or high school diploma is required.
• Preschool CDA preferred; willing to obtain Preschool CDA within two years.
• CPR and First Aid certification required; TB test and Food Handler’s Permit may be required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment with supervision.
• Promote health and nutrition through planned activities.
• Use routines to create a secure environment that encourages play and learning.
• Support development of language, social and emotional skills.
• Communicate with children and support verbal/nonverbal expression.
• Encourage family involvement and coordinate with parents and guardians.
• Assist with lesson planning and related paperwork for supervisor approval.
• Prepare CACFP documents and manage meal provisioning.
• Be flexible and ready for other duties as assigned.
