Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or entry level Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
• Current licensure to practice occupational therapy in Massachusetts.
• Minimum of one year of work experience as an occupational therapist.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and time management to independently manage patient care load.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred patients accurately using appropriate tests, measurements, and history.
• Recommends treatment plans with patient/family and physician, including frequency and duration of treatment and goals.
• Administers therapeutic techniques accurately and monitors patient response, adjusting as needed.
• Assists in orientation, training, and supervision of aides, students, and volunteers.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in medical records and for billing.
• Confers with patient/family, physician, staff, vendors, or facilities to coordinate care or obtain equipment.
• Maintains and enhances professional knowledge through continuing education and professional involvement.
• Participates in departmental meetings and performance improvement activities.
