Job summary

Decypher is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform comprehensive clinical lab tests across hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and more. Responsibilities include specimen preparation, instrument operation, quality control, and reporting results per lab protocols.

Qualified candidates hold a Medical Laboratory Technician certification with current ASCP/AMT registration, at least one year of lab experience, and U.S. citizenship. Onsite night shift coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved college-based laboratory technician certification program and passed the certification test by an approved organization such as NCA/AMT/ASCP.
• Current certification/registration as Medical Laboratory Technician per ASCP or AMT.
• Minimum one year of experience working in the clinical lab as a Medical Technician, including a six-month rotation through all sections of a medical laboratory.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, cytology, microbiology, urinalysis, serology, transfusion services, or phlebotomy.
• Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis and prepare specimens for analysis.
• Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments and perform quality control checks.
• Verify correct instrument operation and troubleshoot problems.
• Prepare specimens for transport to MTF laboratory or for mail out.
• Perform all duties in compliance with Joint Commission Standards.
