Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards.
• Assist school administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct; establish classroom rules and maintain order.
• Create a culture of effectiveness by setting high standards and expectations for all students.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets students' needs, interests, and abilities.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Create a classroom environment that engages students and helps them achieve objectives.
• Communicate learning objectives to students and align with district goals.
• Establish learning objectives based on NC standards, DPI requirements, and district curriculum.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans.
