Job summary

Northwest Regional ESD is seeking a dedicated Middle School Boys Basketball Coach to implement the district’s athletic program in line with OSAA policies. The role involves planning practices, teaching game strategies, and motivating student athletes while upholding fair play and safety standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating with administration, maintaining eligibility and records, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, and the community.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise students effectively.
• Certified in first-aid/CPR or willing to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of the sport and ability to teach it to students.
• Foster positive human relations and sportsmanship.
• Maintain OSAA certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Board of Education policies and OSAA guidelines.
• Attends all scheduled meetings with administration and league.
• Aids athletic director with eligibility forms and records.
• Organizes and directs practice activities and game strategy.
• Supervises players during practice, games, locker rooms and transport.
• Maintains discipline and reports infractions promptly.
• Promotes sportsmanship and professional conduct at events.
• Encourages academic achievement among athletes.
• Completes injury reports within 24 hours of injuries.
