Baptist Health Care in Pensacola, FL seeks a Mental Health Technician to support nursing staff under RN direction. You will engage psychiatric patients, assist in recovery plans, and help maintain a therapeutic environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and welcomes a bachelor’s in psychology-related fields. Prior psychiatric care experience is preferred. This is a day-shift, full-time position with a focus on safe, compassionate care.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling/Psychology, Psychiatric-Mental Health Preferred.
• 1 year experience in psychiatric care or healthcare related position Preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Performs duties defined by the mental health unit to address patient needs.
• Conducts safety rounds and documents patient status, reporting abnormal findings.
• Collaborates with treatment team to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Utilizes crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate escalating behavior and maintain safety.
• Maintains accurate documentation of care to support team decisions.
• Demonstrates sound judgment in decision-making during patient care activities.
• Provides person-centered care, encourages patient participation, and fosters optimism.
• Manages therapeutic milieu and redirects behaviors when needed.
• Maintains current knowledge and certifications.
