Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Mental Health Specialist II in Minnesota to provide person-centered supports to individuals with behavioral and mental health needs. You will work with teams to implement plans, monitor progress, and document activities using electronic systems.

The role involves direct care, crisis management, and collaboration with case managers and health professionals. Training and growth opportunities are available within a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with chronic/severe mental illness or a degree in a mental-health-related field.
• Must be at least 18 years old (some programs require 21+).
• Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intensive behavioral and mental health needs.
• Follow behavior support plans, treatment plans, crisis-prevention strategies, and de-escalation techniques.
• Assist with daily living skills, transportation, and community engagement.
• Accurately document services and observations using electronic systems.
• Monitor behavioral changes and communicate with supervisors during crisis or safety situations.
• Support families, appointments, and, where allowed, medication administration tasks.
• Participate in team meetings and train new staff; model professional behavior.
• Maintain home safety and follow emergency procedures.
