Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Mental Health Specialist II in Minnesota to provide direct support to individuals with intensive behavioral and mental‑health needs within ABS group homes. You’ll work in a structured, safety‑focused environment, using person‑centered approaches and documented plans to help clients reach goals.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior plans, crisis de‑escalation, coordinating with teams, and assisting with daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: high school diploma or GED or a degree in a mental-health–related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with individuals with chronic/severe mental illness, or a related degree.
• Must be 18+ (some programs require 21+).
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance proof.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to individuals with intensive behavioral and mental-health needs using person-centered approaches focused on safety and engagement.
• Follow behavior support plans, treatment plans, crisis-prevention strategies, and de-escalation techniques as trained.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and assist with daily living skills and community activities.
• Accurately document services and observations using electronic systems (T-logs, Therap, health tracking).
• Monitor behavioral changes and communicate with supervisors during crises or safety situations.
• Support family contacts, assist with appointments and medication administration tasks as allowed.
• Participate in team meetings, provide feedback on needs, and help train new staff.
• Maintain home safety and follow emergency procedures per individual plans.
