Job summary

Family-Health-Centers-of-Southwest-Florida is seeking a dependable Coding Specialist to accurately code medical records in Intergy and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. You will review charts, identify errors, and submit codes for processing while collaborating with the Coding Supervisor to improve documentation.

Required knowledge includes CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding and HIPAA adherence; experience with Medicaid/Medicare rules is a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial Insurance rules.
• CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding and modifiers experience.
• Understanding of FQHC billing procedures.
• HIPAA guidelines knowledge and adherence.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts for coding and abstracting of patient encounters, including diagnostic and procedural information.
• Audit clinical documentation and coded data to validate diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement.
• Identify diagnostic and procedural information and review charges for appropriate complexity using CPT guidelines.
• Assign codes for reimbursements and regulatory compliance; follow up to date conventions.
• Provide feedback to providers to improve documentation practices.
• Enter all codes, modifiers in Intergy timely and accurately; verify patient data.
• Follow checks and balances to ensure complete and accurate code capture.
• Review LCDs and Medicare updates and NCCI guidance.
• Serve as coding consultant to providers.
• Stay abreast of compliance regulations and third-party payer directives.
• Provide updates to management weekly; perform other duties as assigned.
