The University of Kansas Health System seeks a Medical Assistant for Occupational Health at KU Medwest Medical Pavilion. You will facilitate patient flow, assist clinicians, record vital data, and support clerical tasks while maintaining patient-centered care and compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications include high school diploma, MA program completion or equivalent experience, and BLS certification; CCMA/NCRMA preferred. This is a full-time on-site role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or at least one year as a Medical Assistant or CCMA or NCRMA certification.
• Basic typing and word processing skills.

Responsabilités

• Schedule tests and prepare samples per policy.
• Assist physicians/nurses with procedures per competency checklist.
• Coordinate patient care and record patient history elements as needed.
• Submit prescriptions/refills to outpatient pharmacies electronically or via fax.
• Ensure data from procedures is recorded in medical records.
• Maintain medical records and distribute reports and correspondence.
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked; monitor logs and equipment.
• Perform clerical duties: greeting, registration, scheduling, insurance forms, charges.
• Perform simple procedures as directed by nurse or physician per checklist.
• Take vital signs and document measurements.
• Demonstrate professional competencies for the unit or department.
