Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is hiring a Medical Assistant Float to support ambulatory clinics across KUCC sites in North Kansas City and surrounding locations. This full-time role focuses on efficient patient flow, exam support, and ensuring courteous service.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting with examinations and limited procedures, scheduling tests or consults, maintaining records and clinic spaces, and helping maintain supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or 3+ years related experience.
• BLS Certification required.
• Basic typing and word processing skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for visits and assist with examinations and limited procedures.
• Schedule diagnostic tests or referrals.
• Maintain patient records and organize clinic/exam rooms.
• Assist physicians and other staff and manage supplies/equipment inventory.
• Support care team to ensure efficient patient flow.

Position Summary / Career Interest:

The Medical Assistant Ambulatory Float is responsible for ensuring efficient flow of patients through the health care setting by facilitating examination and treatment of patients in a culturally sensitive manner with exceptional customer service; contributes to patient care by preparing patient for visit, performing limited procedures, scheduling diagnostic test or consults, maintaining patient records, organizing clinic/exam rooms, maintaining supply/equipment inventory, and/or assisting physicians, other medical staff, nurses, other interdisciplinary team members and support staff.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program OR at least 3 years of a combination of Medical Assistant, Health Care Associate or clinic office job-related job experience.
• BLS Certification
• Basic typing and word processing
