Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced clinic in Georgia. You will prepare patients, perform triage, document histories in our EMR, collect specimens, and assist with procedures while upholding HIPAA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 1+ year healthcare experience preferred (urgent care or ER a plus).
• Proficiency in venipuncture, injections and clinical procedures.
• Experience using EMR software, EPIC preferred.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Team player with a proactive approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Perform triage and take vital signs accurately.
• Document detailed patient history in the EMR in a timely manner.
• Collect routine lab specimens (blood, urine, oral swabs).
• Administer medications and injections as directed.
• Start IVs, place catheters, and assist with splinting.
• Support occupational medicine services and HIPAA/ OSHA compliance.
• Handle administrative tasks and operate medical equipment.
• Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed.
