Job summary

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is seeking a Mechanical Design Supervisor to oversee engineering staff, support design development, and ensure quality and compliance of deliverables for the Hanford site in Richland, WA.

The role reports to the Design Engineering Manager and emphasizes team execution, mentoring, and coordinating multi-discipline design activities. It involves maintaining CAD standards and supporting operations, maintenance, and projects.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline and 8 years of related experience.
• Grades indicate increasing scope: Grade 20 (8y), Grade 21 (10y), Grade 22 (12y).
• Experience with design; ability to supervise and coordinate design activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and guidance to Mechanical Design staff.
• Coordinate design activities and prepare scopes of work and schedules.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, codes, safety, and configuration control.
• Maintain CAD standards and digital file management.
• Provide mechanical design support including system design and equipment evaluations.
• Assist in engineering procedures and interface with external design providers.
• Support operations, maintenance, and project engineering as needed.
• Promote continuous improvement and sound engineering practices.
