Qualifications

• Licensed practical nurse in Iowa with current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and injections as ordered.

• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and policy.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to patients in treatment as ordered.
• Conduct nursing assessments and H&P’s on new or readmitted patients.
• Review prescriptions and OTC meds for accuracy and safety.
• Perform TB testing, venipuncture, injections as directed by physician.
• Document patient status clearly for interdisciplinary team.
• Refer patients to appropriate health services as needed.
• Ensure accurate take-home medication procedures and reports.
• Record test results and report changes to medical director when required.
• Maintain licensure and comply with UCS policies and regulations.
