Job summary

Ramsey County is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (0.8 FTE) to assist in correctional health at the Law Enforcement Center. You will administer medications, injections, monitor patient status, and support on-site healthcare teams and custody staff in a secure environment.

The role requires completion of a MN Board‑approved practical nursing program, one year of LPN experience, and current MN licensure with CPR/BLS. A criminal background check and pre‑employment health screening apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of a practical nursing program approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
• One year of LPN experience.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Minnesota; CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care per treatment plans: monitor vitals, dress wounds, administer injections and meds.
• Collect specimens (venipuncture), perform lab tests as ordered and document results.
• Administer medications and report issues such as non‑compliance or missed doses.
• Assist in emergency decisions with custody staff and prepare reports as needed.
• Assist in transfer summaries, sick call requests, discharge planning, and updating patient charts.
