Qualifications

• At least 7–10 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong technical and financial underwriting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• College degree preferred, high school diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Review life insurance applications and underwrite standard and substandard risks within authority.
• Conferring with senior underwriters, Medical Director, and Director of Indv Underwriting on complex cases.
• Meet established time service standards and ensure quick turnaround.
• Explain underwriting decisions to agents/producers while maintaining relationships.
• Represent underwriting in inter-departmental meetings and projects.
