Job summary

The Catholic University of America seeks an Assistant Director for First Generation Success & Intercultural Education to advance the Take Flight program. You will mentor students, coordinate events and collaborate with campus partners to promote holistic student development.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Engagement, the role emphasizes program development, staff supervision and engagement with campus communities to foster inclusion and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required and Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in campus activities, leadership, orientation or related experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to translate a mission and vision into successful programs and services.
• Strong service orientation and ability to relate to diverse individuals and groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and develop intentional programmatic initiatives and services for recruitment, retention and enrichment of first‑generation students.
• Market, promote and track attendance and assessment data for Take Flight programs and events.
• Assist in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating educational and developmental systems and processes.
• Assist in coordination of curricular and co-curricular support programs to enhance student engagement and success.
• Develop formal working relationships with related departments such as Academic Affairs, Enrollment Services and Housing Services.
• Present training workshops and seminars for students and staff.
