Job summary

Easterseals Iowa is seeking a Job Developer to help adults with developmental disabilities find competitive work and to build connections with local businesses in Polk County and surrounding areas.

In this role you’ll support clients through job placement, on-the-job accommodations, and ongoing support, while coordinating with families, funding sources, and colleagues. The position requires a bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience and offers a competitive wage with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, preferably in human services or related fields.
• Ability to pass and maintain certification as an employment specialist within 24 months.
• Experience with presentations, sales or job development is preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively in writing or verbally.
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to lift up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with developmental disabilities in finding competitive work opportunities.
• Develop relationships with community businesses to facilitate employment.
• Assist clients with job accommodations and on-the-job support as needed.
• Coordinate with funding sources, parents, guardians, and team members, and document services.
• Maintain records of development activities and client progress.
