Job summary

Jefferies invites applications for the 2027 Internal Audit Summer Analyst Program in New York. Interns will gain hands-on experience across audit engagements, performing research, analysis, and recommendations, with mentorship and formal performance reviews throughout the internship.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a four-year degree with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills, and comfort with analytics tools such as Excel, Access, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Undergrad candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related majors.
• Expected graduation between December 2028 - June 2029.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to adapt to change and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with audit methodology and industry best practices.
• Participate in walkthrough meetings and interviews with stakeholders to understand processes.
• Communicate status or concerns in formal discussions with business stakeholders during audits.
• Identify risks and controls; assist in defining scope and work programs.
• Evaluate design and operating effectiveness of internal controls; identify weaknesses.
• Generate observations and convey significance of findings to Audit Management.
• Assist with workpapers and report preparation; document results for re-performance.
• Complete work timely; deliver outputs meeting methodology, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Build relationships within the organization and uphold integrity and inclusion in line with Jefferies values.
• Demonstrate professional skepticism and personal accountability.
