Job summary

Advanced Behavioral Health in Baltimore is seeking a Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapist to support youth and families in the DSS system, promote family preservation, and stabilize placements. The role involves case monitoring, client advocacy, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers full-time W2 employment, competitive compensation of $50,000-$55,000 annually, and comprehensive benefits. Knowledge of HIPAA, EMR, and community resources is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Knowledge of clinic territory.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with CARF/COMAR/HIPAA/State compliance regulations.
• Comply with EMR and uphold the 48-hour documentation standard.
• Provide intensive community-based treatment for up to 6 weeks to children, adolescents and families.
• Collaborate with Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapists for discharge and follow-up care.
• Set schedules, coordinate services, arrange resources including transportation.
• Attend family involvement meetings with BCDSS.
• Make referrals to community providers for comprehensive support.
• Maintain communication with referral sources and updates on client status.
• Respect confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Respond promptly to communications; monitor cases and advocate for services.
• Maintain client records, conduct weekly meetings, and document progress.
• Prepare discharge plans and staff family training; update post-discharge resources.
• Improve staff competence with education resources and learning opportunities.
• Support department reputation; seek value-added opportunities.
• Acquire authorizations through Optum and update EMR accordingly.
• Send discharge warnings and complete discharge processes.
• Attend monthly department meetings; stay informed on updates.
