Job summary

Advanced Behavioral Health in Baltimore seeks a Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapist to provide intensive, community-based services to children, adolescents and their families within the DSS system, aiming to preserve families and stabilize placements.

You will monitor cases, document thoroughly in EMR and Optum, collaborate with a team, attend family meetings, and ensure compliance with CARF/COMAR/HIPAA while delivering high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Comply with CARF/COMAR/HIPPA/State compliance regulations.
• Provide intensive community-based treatment for up to 6 weeks to children, adolescents and their families.
• Collaborate with Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapists to plan discharge and follow-up care.
• Maintain communications with referral sources and provide updates on client status as needed.
• Prepare clients’ discharge plans and coordinate post-discharge requirements.
• Complete clinical notes and documentation within deadlines.

Advanced Behavioral Health is looking for a Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapist to provide services toyouth and their families within the DSS system to promote family preservation, stabilize the youth’s placement, and improve overall functioning.This position willmonitorcasesandprovide client advocacy servicesthroughout the treatment process within the program.

ABHis a family centered mental health program that offers a wraparound approach to treatment. We specialize in Psychiatry, Off-Site Counseling Services, On-Site therapy, and Therapeutic Mentoring. Compensation: $50,000-$55,000/annual

Location: Baltimore

Responsibilities:

• Comply withCARF/COMAR/HIPPA/State compliance regulations.

• Comply withEMR and uphold the 48-hour documentation standard.

• Provide intensive community-based treatment for up to6 weekstochildren,adolescentsand their familiesto promotefamily preservationand stabilize the child’s placement.

• Collaborate closelywith Youth Crisis Stabilization Therapists to provide services for all families within the programincludingplanfor discharge and follow-up care.

• Establishes treatment programs by setting schedules and routines; coordinating services being provided; arranging resources, including transportation and escort.

• Attendfamily involvement meetings with BCDSS.

• Makeappropriate referralsto community providers to ensure comprehensive support.

• Maintain communication with referral sources and provide updates on client status as needed.

• Respect client confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines.

• Respond promptly to communication from clients, families, referral sources, and colleagues.

• Monitors cases by verifying clients’ attendance;observingand evaluating treatments and responses; advocating for needed services and entitlements; obtainingadditionalresources; intervening in crises; providing personal support.

• Maintains clients’ records by reviewing case notes, loggingeventsand progress.

• Communicates clients’ progress by conducting weekly interdisciplinary meetings and evaluations;disseminatingresults and obstacles to therapeutic team and family;identifyingtreatment influences.

• Prepares clients’ discharge by reviewing and amplifying discharge plans; coordinating discharge and post-discharge requirements; orienting and training family members; providing resources.

• Improves staff competence by providing educational resources; balancing work requirements with learning opportunities; evaluating the application of learning to changes in treatment results.

• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership foraccomplishingnew and differentrequests;exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

• Actively works onacquiringauthorizations through Optum.

• Consistently updates client authorizations in the EMR system.

• Diligently sends discharge warnings and discharges clients in EMR system and Optum.

• Complete clinical notes and other documentation within specified deadlines.

• Attend monthly department meetings to stay informed about organizational updates and best practices.

• Other duties as assigned as part of the Youth Crisis Stabilization Program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related discipline.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification is required. Certification must be maintained throughout employment.

• Knowledge of clinic territory.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.

• Ability to manage,delegateand manage multiple taskswithcompleting deadlines and priorities.

• Excellent active listening skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Excellent customer service and people skills are essential.

• Responsible, reliable, and punctual.

• Ability to be proactive and work in a fast-paced environmentwhile ensuring clinical integrity and quality of services provided to clients and their families.

• Ability todemonstrateunderstanding of managed care concepts and willingness to provide treatment and work within that system.

• Strong organizational and prioritizing skills.

• Ability to show sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic dynamics present among thepracticesservice population(s).

• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
