Job summary

Boone Community School District is seeking an Assistant High School Track and Field Coach for the February–April season. The coach will oversee sprint, distance, jumps, and throws events, while promoting fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Responsibilities include attending meets, supervising athletes, and providing in-competition coaching. Safety, policy adherence, and collaboration with other coaches are essential; background checks are required.

Qualifications

Must have current Coaching Endorsement or Authorization and CPR training and Concussion course (school provided).
Ability to demonstrate and teach skills and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of and commitment to upholding safety standards in a sports environment.
Ability to pass a background check, in accordance with school policy.
Gain valuable coaching experience and develop leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Familiar with the Iowa High School Athletic Association rules and Boone CSD policies.
Coach skills in sprints, distance, jumps, throws, etc.
Encourage and develop athletes' fitness, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Monitor academic performance and personal development of student-athletes.
Attend meets, supervise athletes, and provide in-competition coaching and support.
Support game day operations and equipment setup.
