Job summary

Boone County Schools seeks a qualified athletics coach to support the head coach in conducting the athletic program, including practices and camps, while promoting safety and teamwork.

Applicants must hold Kentucky teaching or substitute certificates, have a bachelor’s degree or 64 semester hours with 21+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent with required electives, CPR/First Aid, and evidence of coaching knowledge or experience.

Qualifications

• Holds Kentucky teaching certificate or Emergency Certificate for Substitute Teaching.
• Holds a Bachelor's degree or higher or 64 semester hours and is 21 years of age.
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent, is 21+, and completed KHSAA required electives.
• Has CPR/First Aid certification including AED use, per KHSAA standards.
• Has completed Sports Safety Course per KY statutes.
• Has prior coaching experience or demonstrated knowledge in the sport assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in conducting the overall program of the sport involved, including practices and camps.
• Coach individual participants in skills necessary for excellent achievement.
• Oversee safety conditions of facilities where the sport is conducted.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times.
• Oversee maintenance and care of athletic equipment.
• Co-coach the assigned team and schedule contests when needed.
• Follow all regulations related to the athletic program and eligibility.
