The incumbent will evaluate, plan, and implement therapy, document progress, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Strong leadership, clinical assessment, and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Therapy or Speech-language Pathology.
• Must be licensed in Speech Therapy in California.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver’s License, Car Insurance, Car Registration.
• Strong leadership and collaborative teamwork.
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to utilize computers for timekeeping and documentation.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides services within scope of practice as defined by state laws and plan of care.
• Evaluates function and assists in development of therapy plan of care.
• Treats patients to improve communication, swallowing, and cognition.
• Documents patient progress and reports changes to supervising nurse/physician.
• Instructs patients and caregivers in speech therapy activities.
• Visits patients per treatment plan and submits progress notes.
• Completes evaluations and develops plan of care per state guidelines.
• Participates in staff conferences and committees.
• Provides in-services to agency staff on request.
• Writes a summary report to supervising nurse every 60 days.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
