Job summary

VitalCaring is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to deliver hands-on care in patients' homes across Texas. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, following plans of care written by licensed Physical Therapists to improve mobility and independence.

This field-based role emphasizes patient-centered outcomes and safety in the home environment. Requirements include graduation from an accredited PTA program, current PTA license, CPR certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program.
• Current PTA license or certification as required by state law.
• 1+ year of experience preferred (home health experience a plus).
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Follow individualized plans of care to help patients reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and functional mobility.
• Support patients with transfers, strengthening, and activities of daily living.
• Utilize modalities such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation as appropriate.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and use of assistive devices.
