Qualifications

• Graduate PTA with APTA-approved associate degree.
• Current PTA license in state of practice.
• CPR certification and ability to travel to patients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy under the supervising therapist's direction.
• Treats patients to relieve pain and restore function.
• Directs therapeutic exercises and gait training.
• Administers modalities to patients with stable conditions.
• Instructs and motivates clients in functional activities.
• Observes progress and reports findings to the supervising PT.
• Documents treatments and progress in the clinical record.
• Notifies supervising PT and Director of changes to plan of care.
• Instructs patients in care and use of mobility aids.
