Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a contract near Hartford, CT. You will work with high school students in grades 9-12 with mild to moderate learning needs, focusing on reading and math interventions and individualized support.

You’ll collaborate with general education teachers, design and adapt instruction, monitor progress, and update IEP goals, while contributing to a supportive school climate dedicated to student success and inclusive learning pathways.

Qualifications

• Valid special education teaching certification.
• Experience supporting students in grades 9–12 preferred.
• Solid background in developing and implementing IEPs.
• Skilled in reading and math intervention strategies.
• Strong communicator with a team-based mindset.
• Passion for inclusive learning and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Case manage a caseload of 10-15 students with mild to moderate exceptionalities.
• Design and adapt instruction for individual and small group settings.
• Lead targeted reading and math intervention sessions to boost achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and co-teach in grade-level ELA and Math classes.
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and update IEP goals accordingly.
• Partner with families and other specialists to support holistic growth.
