Job summary

Freire Schools in Philadelphia seeks a High School Math Teacher and Case Manager to deliver standards-aligned Algebra instruction at one of its two Philadelphia high schools. The role involves managing a caseload, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining open communication with families.

You will participate in professional development and have the chance to contribute to SEL and community-building initiatives, while supporting equity and student success in a dynamic learning environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid state teaching certification or clear plan to obtain.
• Strong content-area knowledge and instructional skill.
• Two years of diverse student experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2 sections of Algebra and manage a caseload of students on the special education team.
• Foster a classroom built on critical thinking, rigor, respect, and high expectations.
• Design and implement curriculum that promotes deep thinking and problem-solving.
• Communicate progress and updates with families regularly.
• Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues.
• Opportunity to be a CREW Leader and co-lead SEL/community activities twice weekly.
