Job summary

Freire Schools in Philadelphia seeks a High School Math/Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated special education team at one of our two high schools. You’ll deliver high-quality instruction and services to students with diverse learning needs.

You’ll collaborate with families, co‑teach effectively, and participate in professional development to support student growth. Salary starts around $60,000, with a range of $50,000–$85,000, plus comprehensive benefits and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Valid state teaching certification or commitment to obtain.
• Experience with co-teaching, accommodations, and targeted interventions.
• Strong instructional skill and content knowledge.
• Two years of experience with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Teach Algebra to two sections and manage a caseload.
• Familiarize with IEPs and related accommodations.
• Develop materials to promote critical thinking and problem solving.
• Maintain regular communication with families about student progress.
• Participate in professional development and collaboration with staff.
