The role requires a valid Michigan secondary teaching certification with a chemistry endorsement and experience delivering standards-aligned science instruction. You will contribute to a model that raises achievement for historically underserved scholars,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field.
• Valid Michigan secondary teaching certification/licensure with endorsement in the subject.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in lesson planning and assessment.
• Ability to convey chemistry concepts clearly and engage high school scholars.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans meeting standards and diverse learning styles.
• Deliver chemistry curriculum covering atomic structure, bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, and thermodynamics.
• Organize and conduct laboratory experiments following safety protocols.
• Maintain and handle all materials and equipment properly.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, labs, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to support the school mission.
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment; communicate with students, parents, and staff.
• Maintain regular attendance and uphold educator ethics.
