Job summary

KBR in the United States is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator (Contingency) to support TACOM (RRAD) with general maintenance, repair, and logistics tasks. The role involves operating motor vehicles to move materials and equipment and performing basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs as needed.

The position is contingent upon award and requires adherence to safety standards, PPE use, and precise record-keeping of activities and vehicle use in a physically demanding

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred.
• Typically 2–4 years of experience in general maintenance, facilities support, or related work.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate government or commercial vehicles.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks including minor repairs to facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and upkeep of buildings, work sites, and equipment.
• Operate motor vehicles to transport materials, tools, equipment, and personnel.
• Load, unload, and move materials to support maintenance and logistics operations.
• Perform inspections of work areas to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in proper working condition.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and vehicle use as required.
• Support facility upkeep including cleaning, painting, and general labor tasks.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance personnel on work assignments.
• Support inspections, audits, and government reviews as required.
