Job summary
Morgan County Schools in West Liberty, Kentucky is seeking a District Hearing Impaired Teacher to support deaf or hearing-impaired students and collaborate with families and staff. Responsibilities include assessing student needs, coordinating IEPs, using ASL and/or sign-supported English, training staff, and overseeing specialized equipment and communication development.
Requires valid Kentucky Teacher of the Hearing Impaired certificate; preference for ASL proficiency and prior HI teaching
Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky Teacher of the Hearing Impaired Certificate.
- Preference is given to prior HI teaching experience.
- ASL proficiency is preferred to support ASL users in the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Assess the educational needs of deaf/hearing-impaired students and track progress.
- Coordinate and contribute to IEPs and present levels of performance.
- Utilize ASL and/or signed/spoken language to facilitate communication and learning.
