Job summary

Ochsner is seeking a licensed audiologist to administer diagnostic tests, counsel patients and families, and review options that meet hearing healthcare needs. They perform audiological services across all ages, evaluating, ordering and dispensing hearing aids and cochlear implants.

Education requires a Master’s degree in Audiology or Au.D., with a current hearing aid license in the state. CCC-A is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Audiology or Au.D. required.
• Current hearing aid license in state of practice required.
• CCC-A certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess auditory function across all ages.
• Explain educational, medical, and diagnostic information to patients/families clearly.
• Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, newborn screenings, and otoacoustic emissions.
• Assess candidacy for hearing aids and implant devices and provide rehabilitation options.
• Coordinate all appointment types and assist in training new staff.
• Fit and calibrate hearing aids; conduct ABR evaluations as needed.
• Adapt explanations for diverse patient populations while ensuring privacy and sensitivity.
• Perform other related duties as required.
