You will process insurance verifications on inquiry and referral calls and coordinate admission verifications within the hospital patient accounting system. The role requires attention to detail, experience in healthcare business office settings, and the ability to communicate with admissions and billing teams to ensure accurate funding sources and eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of related experience in a healthcare business office setting is required.
• A degree in a healthcare or business related field could substitute for work experience.
• Business office work experience in a psychiatric hospital is preferred.
• Licensure: None required; Clinical licensure/certification in healthcare related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely processing of insurance verifications on inquiry and referral calls.
• Coordinate and process admission verifications into the hospital patient accounting system.
• Coordinate between business office and the admission departments on all financial issues regarding admissions.
• Works with Business Office in coordination of benefits for patients to ensure that the patient has proper resources.
• Responsible for verification of eligibility of all funding sources for all potential patient admissions.
• Assists admissions with incoming calls and communicates/documents any follow-up needed by the admission department on appropriate admission paperwork.
• Coordinates with Biller to confirm that the correct information is communicated regarding mailing addresses, etc.
