Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Grant Management Specialist for a reputable nonprofit focused on educational outcomes for disadvantaged youth. The role covers the full grant lifecycle, from application support to financial oversight and reporting, based in Welkom, Free State.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field and at least four years in grant management, with strong budgeting, compliance and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years in grant management or financial administration.
• Strong understanding of grant cycles, compliance, and reporting standards.
• Excellent budgeting and financial management skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and grant management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administration of all grant funding and ensure compliance.
• Assist program managers in developing grant proposals and budgets.
• Monitor grant expenditures and prepare financial reports.
• Track grant deadlines and ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain grant records, including agreements and budgets.
• Serve as primary contact for funders regarding reporting.
• Conduct internal reviews to assess program compliance.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with finance for accurate tracking and reconciliation.
• Support development of relationships with funders.
