Job summary

Cass County North Dakota is hiring a full-time Assistant County Planner - GIS Specialist to blend fieldwork with advanced GIS work. You will review subdivision and floodplain compliance, inspect properties, and design GIS maps for the 5-Year Highway Plan while supporting county budgeting efforts.

Daily duties include updating the LINK web app, coordinating with the County Planner, and advancing county planning initiatives with accurate data and clear visuals. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in planning and zoning, geography, GIS, grant writing, or related fields.
• Knowledge of planning, zoning, and floodplain codes and ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Review subdivision and floodplain ordinance compliance.
• Inspect properties to ensure county regulations are met.
• Collaborate with the Highway Department on GIS maps and 5-Year Plan visuals.
• Prepare visuals for budget presentations.
• Update internal LINK web application with latest data.
