Job summary

C Cass County is seeking an Assistant County Planner to help implement and enforce subdivision and floodplain ordinances, working under the County Planner. The role includes inspecting properties before, during, and after plat approvals to ensure compliance with county regulations and health standards.

The position also supports GIS map design for long-range planning, budget briefings, and updates to the internal LINK web app throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in planning and zoning, geography, GIS, grant writing or equivalent
• Knowledge of operations, services and functions of a planning, zoning, and floodplain program
• Valid driver’s license and a High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Assist the County Planner in the implementation and enforcement of subdivision and floodplain ordinances
• Inspect and enforce residential, commercial, industrial properties before, during and after plat approval
• Assist the Highway Department with GIS map design and creation for the 5-Year Highway Plan
• Support budget presentations and participate in annual updates to the internal LINK web application
